Honey is a 13 year old, Missouri Fox Trotter mare. She stands 15.1 hh. Honey is a beautiful girl both inside and out. She has a long, thick mane and tail to compliment her golden coat, and kind dark eyes. Honey is a really sweet girl, and what I consider a real confidence builder. One of the few horses that will not feed off of your fears and insecurities. She has a very nice trail gait that is fast enough to keep you interested, but not so fast that you don't have time to take in the scenery. She has a nice foxtrot that is smooth and easy to ride. She is always calm and cool and if she finds herself in an unfamiliar situation, she will do nothing more than slow down to pick the best way through the obstacle. Honey never gets in a hurry yet enjoys a full day on the trail. She is really a great horse for the beginner or someone who has had negative experiences in the past. Honey is a great mare to have at your barn for when someone comes to visit and wants to ride but doesn't want to spend a lot of time learning how. She is very straight forward. A light nudge to move forward. Left to turn left. Rright to turn right. Take the slack out of the reign for an easy stop, and a couple of light bumps on the bit for an easy step or two backwards. She is nicely trained, but has not been trained to the point that she will be to quick for the novice rider. I have found that she stays the same if she is ridden every day or once a month. She is a great mare that no one will regret bringing home. Honey has great ground manners. Easy to clip muzzle, bridle path, and ears too. Loads easily and backs off the trailer quietly. She stands patiently to tack up, bridle, bathe, and groom. She is well behaved for the vet and farrier. She has been exposed to dogs, cars, atv's, motorcycles, farm equipment, tarps, flags, bicycles, cows, goats, donkeys, teeter totters, and much more. He will easily maneuver ditches, step over logs, cross bridges, and go through water. Honey is sound and healthy. She has no lameness issues or health problems. She is up to date on shots, de-worming, farrier, and has a current coggins. Honey has no vices or bad habits.
