In Dressage, one must allow their body to move with the horse and have as much freedom of movement as possible as to not restrict the horse's movement or throw the horse off-balance. With jumping even weight distribution in you stance is crucial to the movement and an imbalance in the pelvis can greatly influence that. If you are unable to evenly distribute your weight it throws your center of gravity off which is perceived by the horse. Alignment is crucial for both horse and rider.
