Cross country is an trial that typically occurs on the second day of a three-day event. Considered by spectators and participants to be both exciting and dangerous, the cross country course is made up of solidly built obstacles that the horse and rider must maneuver--the team with the fastest time wins. Obstacles can include stone walls, ponds and streams, ditches, drops and banks, combinations, and more.
